About Me

I am a prolific organiser of social events for single people. I thrive on an intensive social life. My career background is 21 years as an insurance consultant of various forms. Since being retrenched from my position as an area sales manager with Medibank Private (I feel better, now) I have moved on from that industry.

For many years I have been heavily involved in organising singles events, essentially as a volunteer. I gave up my former passion of yacht racing to pursue this activity as I found that I had a greater talent for making things happen socially.

I am also a Rock n Roll dance teacher. Dance is my favourite feel-good activity nowadays. I gain a lot of joy and satisfaction in sharing with newcomers the knowledge of how to do it well.

I am not a beer and football sort of a bloke, preferring intellectual challenges and pursuits. I enjoy doing new and different things and finding out everything I can about life, the world and the universe.

My Ideal Partner

I am looking for a happy, friendly lady who likes to socialise. Preferably someone who likes to dance! I am not particular about wealth, career, children or such things. I do like a lady who is independant and takes good care of herself. I would like a partner with advanced intellect, exceptional manners and who can tell a logical argument from rhetoric and sophistry.

My Movies & Entertainment

I like really good movies of all genres. Preferably not just gratuitous violence, but meaningful portrayals of real life. I'm not much into 'girlie' romances, but I can endure them with my lady if she really wants to see one.

My Music

I like all good music from classical and easy-listening through to some heavy metal. I have a very extensive music collection and I do spend a lot of time enjoying it.

My Relaxation

I like to read, walk, watch a movie, cook a good meal, walk along on a beach. I am a very enthusiastic collector and reader of novels and short stories from bygone eras. Favourite books - The Thorn Birds, The Cruel Sea, How Green Was My Valley, The Grapes Of Wrath.

My Sport

I don't play or watch much these days as I am too busy with my other interests.

My Hobbies

My hobbies include sailing, walking and reading. I enjoy plumbing the murky depths of philosophy, creating websites and cooking interesting meals. Most of all, I love to dance Rock n Roll.
