Richard's wonderful entertainer's backyard at Edwardstown has long been the scene of fabulous gatherings of single people in Adelaide. His event on 22/03/09 was no exception.

After many years (six, if I recall correctly) Warwick has decided to retire as organiser of his Arthouse Movie Group. We thank him for his initiative in starting this group in the first place as an offshoot of Going Places With Gareth, and his diligence in tirelessly running it over the years. His efforts have provided a great deal of enjoyment for a lot of single people.

A replacement organiser is being sought and there are some irons in the fire. At this stage the program will continue as usual each Tuesday fortnight. If you are new to our network and have an interest in Arthouse Movies, go here for more details.

Bob McCracken is holding a New Year's Eve party for us and it promises to be a huge event. Many of us have been to parties at his Somerton Park home before and they've always been packed. A slight change of plan, though. In view of the large attendance expected, Bob will instead hold his party at the Warradale home of a friend. It has a huge yard, a swimming pool and ample dance room. After a break of several months, Gareth will shortly be back arranging events in person. We will kick off the warmer season's event series with a wine-tasting and BBQ at Philip's Kingswood home on Sunday 16th September. More details here

Due to work commitments John has found it necessary to change a couple of dates for the Metro Walking Group. The walk planned for 26th August has been moved to the 9th September and the walk planned for the 9th September has been moved to 26th September. John continues to enjoy a great deal of success with this group. If you are keen on walking, give him a call. More information here

Leonie had planned to hold a shared lunch around the swimming pool of her new Netley home on Sunday 18th March. She has now discovered that another function she particularly wants to attend is on that date, so she has brought hers forward to Sunday 11th March. She has gained a reputation for holding a great party in the past and this one will no doubt be a winner.

Joanne will commence her new series of events called "Single Bingle" at her South Plympton home on 9th February 2007 from 7.30 PM until 11 PM. The format will be a viewing of an interesting Christian video (around 40 minutes) followed by spontaneous discussion and then supper. Guests can be any age up to sixty years. Bring a plate of supper and a drink. Bookings can be made through Gareth at this stage.

Susie has been forced to defer the house party she had planned for Saturday 10th February. This will be a disappointment for her as well as us as she was very much looking forward to holding the event. We accept her sincere apologies and have no doubt that she will re-schedule as soon as she is able to.

The good news for Christian singles in Adelaide is that Joanne, one of our regular attendees, intends to hold a new series of Christian Singles events.

Each New Year's Day Richard opens his Edwardstown home for singles in Adelaide to enjoy a party. These events are always well attended, often with over a hundred people gathering for some merriment.

In a lush, leafy setting around his huge swimming pool guests can relax with a few drinks, enjoy a friendly chat and of course, widen your social circle. His large rumpus room becomes a dance-hall with non-stop music provided for those who wish to get down and boogie.

The format is a shared dinner. Arrive from 2 PM. Each guest brings a generous plate of prepared food to share (not bbq). You can bring something cold, salads etc, or oven-warmable food. If cooking isn't your thing pick up a chicken, seafood, pizza etc on the way. The spread of food is always magnificent.

Unfortunately Helen's New year's Eve party has had to be cancelled. This is due to two reasons. Firstly Gareth won't be available to assist due to work commitments. Secondly, Helen is preparing to dash off to Queensland to visit her new grand-daughter, so she has other things on her mind. Helen has been a solid provider of great shows over the years, so she is entitled to have a New Year's Eve off.
