I was one of those 500 people who went on that cruise. Even though I did not know anyone but did recognize a couple of people in the distance, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Music has a way of bringing people together and I will certainly look forward to the next one.

Helen: The 'riff-raff' question.

I'd never thought much about the riff-raff subject until last night at Richard's soiree` (hard to get the accent over the 1st 'e') when a very pleasant man was talking about the various singles groups which he had attended. I won't name the particular group but there was a recent dinner at a restaurant in Melbourne Street for the cost of $89 per head. I raised my eyebrows somewhat but he explained that whilst the food serves were quite small, you could drink all the wine you wanted.....and "if you just wanted a cheap meal, you could go to a pub anyway".

For once in my life I chose not to comment too quickly but for some of us, $89 is a reasonable expense - no-one supports me, I can only work part-time, I still have a mortgage and I.....nah, that would be telling too much.

Anyone can have money to burn and still behave like riff-raff. Money does not buy class nor good taste, and never will.

Give me Gareth's friendly get-togethers any night. I can hold my own amongst the nouveau riche, the OAFs, the genuine 'riche', and the everyday workers.

These comments are of course my very humble opinion.
