The Steamranger trip on 17th July was a great day, spent lunching in the Hahndorf Inn! As for the train, well that travelled 5kms from Mt Barker, then de-railed. Fortunately, well-seasoned event host Cheryl knew precisely what to do. The lunch was booked in a flash and by all accounts the attendees had a great day. Of course, their ticket money is being refunded and most are keen to try again. Apparently recent rain in a culvert had undermined the track. Thanks to Richard we have a photo of the offending bogey, to be featured on an events report page ( to be posted shortly).

After this week's walk Denis will retire as organiser of the North Adelaide Walking Group. Instead, John will be the organiser following a similar path to Denis before him with a variety of locations as starting points. The group will be re-named Metro Walking Group and will commence on the 16th July with a walk starting at the Bridgewater Hotel car -park. See the program for full details.

The Steamranger train trip will definitely go ahead (full steam?) but will now be organised by Cheryl Pomeroy, a highly experienced singles event co-ordinator. Her contact number is 0412890009. She will also arrange a luncheon meal at a hotel in Victor Harbour for those who are interested. Payment of $55 for this function needs to be made to her as soon as possible to secure your spot.
