A New Year double-banger!

What a wonderful start to 2010? Around 70 attended Helen's New Year's Eve party. A brief sleep later, approximately 110 guests arrived at Richard's Edwardstown home for his traditional New Year's Day open house.

Helen loves to throw a party. Over the years she's had plenty of practice. She has entertained singles at a succession of well attended and very memorable get-togethers.

This year approximately 70 of us gathered at her Oaklands Park home to welcome 2010. After a 40 degree day, a mild change kept the temperature just warm enough for a few swimmers to frolic in her large pool. Others danced their feet off, or dutifully assisted in easing Australia's wine glut.

The next day, many of them were among the 100 plus guests who joined in merry-making at Richard's Edwardstown home.

He has held these functions for decades and they continue to be highly successful.

The format is arrival from 2 PM for a shared dinner at 6 PM. The spread of food people brought this year was varied and extensive, ensuring that no-one went hungry.

These functions have come after a quiet year for Going Places With Gareth. They are the precursors of what should be a very busy year for singles.

New functions are planned in place of Friday Night Dinners. Some new directions will undoubtedly revitalise one of Australia's largest face-to-face singles networks.
