Our party season blasted off with a hoot at Helen's home last Saturday night (11th October). Around seventy guests arrived to enjoy a delightful get-together.
Her Oaklands Park backyard has been the scene of many happy occasions and this party was no exception.
The weather was kind to us with quite a warm evening for this time of year, allowing us to party well into the night. Our previous early October parties have wound up quite early as a chill set in after dark.
Of course, a big benefit was the early start of daylight saving this year.
These events are an ideal way for newcomers to integrate into our network. While the idea of attending a large gathering may seem daunting, most find that the friendliness of our members towards new people allows them to quickly begin socialising.
More house parties will follow with several dates already confirmed on the program.
These events generally run from October through March until the cold weather forces us to shut them down for the winter.
